FEEC establishes cooperation with South Korean Woosuk University
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with South Korean Woosuk University, representing another step in developing international collaboration in the field of advanced technologies. The five-year agreement was signed by FEEC Dean Vladimír Aubrecht and Woosuk University Vice President Hongki Lee. The memorandum, concluded on August 26, 2025, opens new opportunities for research, education, and technological development in areas that are among the key trends of the 21st century.

Focus on Future Technologies
The memorandum focuses primarily on two key areas of mutual cooperation. Research and educational exchange in the field of hydrogen technologies, batteries, and other advanced technologies in energy and electronics represents the cornerstone of the partnership. This focus reflects the global trend toward clean energy sources and modern technological solutions.
The second main area is support for educational trends, professional training programs, and practical applications for students of both institutions, creating opportunities for international exchanges and joint educational projects.
Woosuk University is an established private South Korean university with campuses in Jeonju and Jincheon. It focuses primarily on areas of safety, social security, bio-nutrition, culture, arts, and environmental energy sources. The university received the highest rating from the South Korean Ministry of Education for teaching quality, student retention rates, graduate employment success, and satisfaction with school management.
Strojírenský zkušební ústav (SZU) played a significant role in establishing the cooperation, participating in creating the contact that led to signing the memorandum. SZU, in collaboration with its South Korean business partner, provides its customers through SZU Korea with product marking in the KC and S-mark systems, which is required for many products when placing them on the Korean market.
The memorandum concluded with Woosuk University represents a significant expansion of FEEC's international activities into the Asia-Pacific region, which is among the most dynamic areas of technological development. The partnership with Woosuk University will provide the faculty access to the latest knowledge in hydrogen technologies and energy solutions that are crucial for the future of sustainable development.
The visit took place accompanied by Professor Petr Vanýsek and Professor Tomáš Kazda, who work at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Technology, and Vice-Dean for Research and PhD Study Jaroslav Koton. "Cooperation with Woosuk University brings new perspectives in research of advanced energy technologies, especially in the field of hydrogen systems and battery technologies," says Professor Petr Vanýsek, guarantor of cooperation with the South Korean institution. "We believe that connecting our research capacities will lead to interesting innovations with practical applications in industry."
For students of both institutions, the memorandum opens new opportunities in the field of practical internships, exchange programs, and access to international research projects.
