Into the new academic year with another Strategic Corporate Partner
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC BUT) has expanded its ranks of strategic partners to include Rohde & Schwarz. At the end of August, Dean Vladimír Aubrecht, accompanied by Vice-Dean for External Relations Tomáš Kratochvíl and Alexandr Otáhal from the Department of Microelectronics, signed a cooperation agreement directly at the company's manufacturing plant in Vimperk.

The Rohde & Schwarz plant in Vimperk represents a key pillar of the international corporation of the same name, which ranks among world leaders in electronic testing and measuring instruments, information technology, and radiocommunications. For more than two decades, a team of specialists has been developing and manufacturing cutting-edge instruments here, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers and a wide range of other products that find applications in various industrial sectors worldwide.
"The signed agreement clearly defines the scope of our cooperation and confirms mutual agreement on supporting technical education not only at the university level, but also among secondary school students and spreading awareness of technical fields among the general public," says Dean Vladimír Aubrecht.
Concrete Educational Support
One of the concrete practical experiences for students with the development and production of modern measuring technologies is the E-camp organized by Rohde & Schwarz in Vimperk. During last summer, students from the Department of Control and Instrumentation assembled a digital oscilloscope R&S RTM3004 as part of this summer event at the Rohde & Schwarz plant. The oscilloscope was ceremonially presented at the PerFEKT JobFair trade fair, which took place together with the student conference STUDENT EEICT 2025 on April 29, 2025.
The new oscilloscope will serve for practical teaching of students in the institute's laboratories, specifically in the courses Measurement in Electrical Engineering (BPC-MVE) and Electronic Measurement Systems (MPC-EMS). Students will thus have the opportunity to work with the most modern technologies used in practice.
Next week, another edition of E-camp will take place in Vimperk, with a large group of our students participating again. "We have excellent experience with Rohde & Schwarz testing and measuring instruments in our laboratories – they represent high-quality equipment with high functional and added value, which has proven its reliability even in university teaching conditions," adds Vice-Dean for External Relations Tomáš Kratochvíl.
The strategic partnership with Rohde & Schwarz brings numerous advantages to the faculty and its students. In addition to access to the latest technologies and practical internship opportunities, students will also gain valuable contacts with industry professionals. For the faculty, the partnership means strengthening ties with industry and the possibility of continuous development of educational programs in accordance with current market needs.
