FEKT signed a cooperation memorandum with Brno City Museum
On Monday, June 23, 2025, a cooperation memorandum was signed between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of BUT and Brno City Museum (Muzeum města Brna, MuMB). The document was signed by Dean Vladimír Aubrecht and Museum Director Zbyněk Šolc in the presence of Vice-Dean for External Relations Tomáš Kratochvíl and Villa Tugendhat Director Iveta Černá.

The newly concluded memorandum between FEKT BUT and Brno City Museum creates a framework for cooperation in the field of lighting technology and environmental protection, focusing on four key areas: utilization of daylight with emphasis on optimal use of natural lighting in architecture and urbanism, utilization of artificial light for developing efficient lighting technologies with emphasis on energy savings, light pollution including research and prevention of negative impacts of excessive lighting on the environment and human health, and light hygiene focused on studying the influence of light on human health and wellbeing including circadian rhythms. The document establishes a platform for information exchange, coordination of research activities and educational initiatives, with Petr Baxant from the Department of Electrical Power Engineering FEKT representing BUT and Barbora Benčíková representing MuMB as designated contact persons.
