Eighteen American Students Explored Brno University of Technology
On Saturday, 25 July, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC) at Brno University of Technology (BUT) welcomed eighteen students from the United States. The students were participating in the Cross Cultural Pathways for Young Leaders summer school organised by the Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration. The twelve-day programme is designed for young people aged 16 to 22 with Czech heritage or an interest in Czech culture and studying in the Czech Republic. As part of the programme, participants also visited universities in Prague, Hradec Králové, Brno and Ostrava.

During their two-day stay in Brno, the group spent one morning at BUT. The programme began with an introduction to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, followed by a presentation by the Brno Mars Rover student team. The US students then explored the CyberGrid Laboratory, where they learned about cybersecurity research, and met members of the YSpace student team. The visit concluded with a tour of the laboratories of the Drone Research Centre student team.
“BUT has long been committed to international cooperation, and we are pleased to show our excellent laboratories and successful student projects to international visitors. We believe that experiencing our university firsthand may inspire many of these students to return to the Czech Republic in the future, whether for their studies or research,” said Stanislav Klusáček, Vice Dean for Internationalisation at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, BUT.
The visit built on the faculty's long-standing cooperation with the organisers of the programme. Participants in the summer school have visited BUT in previous years, and this year's programme once again provided an opportunity to present the university's research activities, cutting-edge technologies, and student teams, which are an integral part of life at BUT.
