Meeting after decades: alumni return to FEKT
In May, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of the BUT held two nice alumni meetings, which reminded not only the power of memories, but also the continuous development in technical fields.
45 years since the study of technical cybernetics
On Tuesday, 21 May, the Department of Control and Instrumentation welcomed nearly forty graduates of the Technical Cybernetics degree programme who graduated in 1980. The program included, among other things, a lecture on artificial intelligence prepared by Assoc. Ing. Václav Jirsík, CSc., and a guided tour of modern laboratories in the fields of robotics, image processing and industrial automation. The event was organized by one of the graduates, Ing. Radovan Holek, CSc.
Microelectronics 40 years later
A few days earlier, on Saturday, May 17, the Department of Microelectronics also hosted a meeting of graduates in microelectronics. After four decades, they returned to the faculty to recall their student years and to see how their former institute has changed. Prof. Brančík from the Institute of Radioelectronics was also among the graduates.
Both events were held in a friendly spirit, with nostalgia and sincere interest in the current state and direction of the faculty. Thank you to all the organizers and participants - we are glad that our alumni still like to come back to us.
