Flowers against cancer will be possible to buy at FEEC and FME
On Wednesday 14 May, the Czech Day Against Cancer will be a national flower collection. This year's theme is screening programmes and prevention of colorectal cancer. Students and employees of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will also be able to support the charity collection.
The yellow flower, a symbol of the fight against cancer, will be available for purchase on Wednesday at the FME premises, namely in Building A1 at the concierge desk from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., or from Wednesday to Friday at the lending desk in the FEEC Campus Library in Building T12.
Payment is possible in cash or by QR code. The price of one flower is 20 CZK, but donors can also contribute a higher amount. The cash contribution is dropped directly into the hole in the cash bag, so the organizers of the collection ask people who want to contribute to the fight against cancer to have the amount prepared in advance, because the money cannot be exchanged. The cashless alternative is the aforementioned QR payment.
Donors will also receive a leaflet with information about preventing the disease with each flower. The funds raised will be used for cancer prevention, improving the quality of life of cancer patients, supporting cancer education, research and equipping cancer centres.
