BUT invites you to Gaudeamus in Brno. It will show that technology has many forms
Are you facing your final exams and not sure where to go next? Explore your options at Gaudeamus Brno, the largest and most popular post-secondary education fair in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Among the exhibitors, you will also find Brno University of Technology from October 21–24 at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Stop by the university stand and discover the opportunities that BUT has to offer!
Brno University of Technology – consisting of eight faculties and two university institutes – will be represented at the Gaudeamus fair in Pavilion V by current students. They will show high school students that BUT is not only for those interested in technology but also for those who want to study natural sciences, economics, art, or architecture. “We want to show applicants that the university offers a wide range of opportunities and that everyone can find a field they enjoy,” said Helena Sadílková, the event coordinator for BUT.
University students will answer all visitors’ questions regarding studies, applications, admission procedures, accommodation, sports, and leisure activities. Prospective students will thus get all the important information firsthand and gain an authentic insight into life in Brno and the atmosphere at BUT. All essential information about study programs at BUT will also be presented in exhibitor lectures, held daily at 10:25 a.m. in Lecture Hall A.
“At the Gaudeamus fair, we want to provide visitors not only with information about studying itself but also about other meaningful activities available at the university. Applicants can also learn more about support opportunities for disadvantaged students offered by the Alfons Counseling Center at BUT. In addition, various exhibits created by research groups, student teams, and the students themselves will be on display as part of the fair’s accompanying program, presenting the university from a slightly different perspective,” added Sadílková.
Robotic Inventions and a Modern Workshop
BUT will take part in the accompanying program Science for Life, presenting scientific and student projects developed at the university, as well as creative teams such as Drone Research Center, YSpace, TU Brno Racing, Pneuracer, or Chicken Wings.
Visitors can shake hands with a humanoid robot, view an interactive earthquake simulation model, and learn how to combat AI-generated deepfakes. Highlights will include a robotic bartender serving selected drinks, a robotic air hockey table, and a balance platform that monitors equilibrium, stability, and movement coordination in real time.
The combination of creativity, craftsmanship, and modern technologies will be showcased in student models at the BUT exhibition and in the popular FabLab University workshop, where high school students can try creating with 3D printers, a cutting plotter, or a CNC milling machine.
A Modern Stand with Students in the Spotlight
The Brno fair, held under the auspices of several institutions including BUT Rector Ladislav Janíček, will feature more than 400 universities and other educational institutions from the Czech Republic and abroad this year. Brno University of Technology will present an exhibition booth that was first introduced exactly a year ago and won second place in the exhibition competition at the Gaudeamus fair in Bratislava. This year, the stand will be brought to life with large-format photos of students, who are the main faces of a new recruitment campaign launching in November along with the opening of applications. Many of them will personally present their studies directly at the fair, where the premiere of the new BUT recruitment video will also take place.
BUT has already showcased its study programs at Gaudeamus Nitra and Bratislava, and early next year it will head to the Prague fair, taking place from January 20–22, 2026. Besides these education fairs, those interested in studying at the Brno University of Technology can also attend Open Days at individual faculties and university departments to learn more about specific programs.
