New Year's greetings from the dean of FEEC Vladimír Aubrecht


Dear Colleagues, Dear Students,

With the arrival of the new year, allow me to thank all academic, administrative, and technical staff for their professional work and the results they achieved over the past year for the benefit of our faculty. I also thank our students for their active approach to their studies, their interest in the field, and their involvement in faculty life. My thanks likewise go to our industrial partners and cooperating institutions for their long-term support, cooperation, and trust.

The past year brought our faculty a number of significant achievements as well as new challenges. I consider the evaluation of the faculty by an international evaluation panel with the highest grade of “A” to be an exceptional success. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of Brno University of Technology has thus confirmed its prestigious position among technical faculties in the Czech Republic and in an international context. Another very positive signal is the year-on-year increase in the number of applicants to study at our faculty, even at a time when interest in technical and STEM studies in society at large is rather declining.

I am convinced that achieving our shared goals for the coming period requires not only professional excellence and commitment, but also mutual trust, respect for the work of others, and the ability to engage in open dialogue and seek compromises. These values form the foundation of the faculty’s long-term development as a modern educational and research institution that prepares top professionals for the future.

Allow me to address this New Year’s reflection as my last one in the position of dean of the faculty. I greatly appreciate the cooperation, support, and trust that I have received during my tenure.

On the threshold of the new year 2026, I wish you all above all good health, personal well-being, many professional and academic successes, plenty of energy, and joy in your everyday work and studies.
