Social safety

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies at BUT Brno is committed to providing a safe and equitable study and work environment, free from discrimination. Discrimination includes harassment, sexual harassment, victimisation, instruction to discriminate, and incitement to discriminate. If a student, continuing education participant, faculty member, or member of an FECC body who is not an employee of FECC experiences discrimination or witnesses discriminatory acts or any other behaviour that interferes with a safe and fair environment, they should seek advice or assistance from any of the following individuals with confidence:

If any of the individuals listed above have engaged in discriminatory behaviour or any other act that violates social safety, please contact the Dean of FEKT, prof. RNDr. Vladimíra Aubrechta, CSc..

For further assistance, students may also seek help from the counselling centre at the Institute of Lifelong Learning (ICV) at Brno University of Technology (Psychological counseling - Students - Lifelong Learning Institute BUT (vutbr.cz)). The counselling services offered are focused on personal and professional development through individual and group activities. The ICV Counselling Centre, through the ALFONS Centre, provides counselling and support services to applicants and students with specific needs, including learning disabilities, disabilities, communication disorders, or other illnesses. Moreover, the Counselling Centre extends its services to students facing challenging life situations, irrespective of their studies. The Centre's services are also accessible to BUT employees who encounter difficult life or work situations.

The employees mentioned above are designated as contact persons to receive suggestions or notifications of undesirable phenomena and provide basic counseling. They do not have the authority to directly address suggestions, but will forward them to the responsible parties, including the Social Safety Contact Person (Social Safety – BUT (vut.cz)), with your permission.

Please note that the Faculty has limited powers and abilities to investigate. Therefore, formal complaints, notifications, and social safety suggestions may require involvement from the Police. It is important to maintain objectivity and avoid biased language when reporting incidents.
