Become a diskUTEEr: Autumn Series of Expert Seminars
At the Department of Theoretical and Experimental Electrical Engineering (in Czech shortly UTEE), a new series of expert lectures called diskUTEEr has just begun. It offers students, staff, and other participants the opportunity to meet with experts from both industry and academia. The aim is to present current topics in electrical engineering and related fields, while also creating space for discussion and sharing experiences. The seminars take place in Building C at Technická 12, 4th floor, room 4.81.
Interesting seminars prepared for October and November:
October 15, 2025, 3:00 PM
Roman Vaněk, Practical Demonstrations of the KiCad Tool and Integrated SPICE Simulator Capabilities
The lecture will focus on the open-source design software KiCad. Participants will become familiar with tools for creating schematic diagrams and printed circuit board design, with an emphasis on practical demonstrations. The presentation will also include an introduction to simulation capabilities using integrated ngSPICE and inspiration on how to connect design with analysis in one environment.
October 29, 2025, 3:00 PM
Jakub Prvý, Drone Research Center, New Trends in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Unmanned aerial vehicles are becoming a key technology with growing importance for industry, science, and everyday life. From environmental monitoring and inspections to logistics and autonomous systems – their capabilities are rapidly expanding. The lecture will offer insight into current trends, technological challenges, and opportunities that unmanned systems open up for the future.
November 5, 2025, 3:00 PM
Jiří Janoušek, Legislation for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Not Only at BUT
The seminar will present current rules for drone flying. Participants will become familiar with applicable legislation, news, and recent changes that must be followed. Discussion will cover not only flight conditions in the vicinity of the Technology Park, but also rules for densely populated areas or spaces near airports.
