FEEC BUT and secondary schools: cooperation that makes sense

Tailor-made open days | Author: FEEC BUT archive
Since the beginning of the academic year, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication at Brno University of Technology (FEEC) has organized a series of activities aimed at promoting cooperation and presenting FEEC's study programs to secondary schools. Since September, twelve "Tailor-made Open Days" have been organized for secondary schools from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with the aim of introducing them to the study opportunities and facilities offered by FEEC. The program included presentations of study programs, tours of institutes and laboratories, workshops, and specialist lectures. At the same time, we expanded the range of practical workshops that we offer to schools in cooperation with the faculty's specialized institutes as part of visits or project days.
Thanks to the call "Are you planning to visit your former secondary school? Take FEEC with you!", we managed to significantly increase the number of visits by FEEC representatives to secondary schools and grammar schools in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. More than 30 outreach events were held, involving FEEC students who are graduates of various secondary schools. Some of the visits also included specialized lectures and workshops led by faculty academic staff.

In November, we organized a meeting of secondary school principals in connection with Open Science Day. The event was attended by 25 guests – principals, their deputies, teachers, and educational counselors – from a total of 18 vocational schools and high schools from various regions of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
A partnership program, which includes the signing of a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation, now also serves to strengthen cooperation with secondary schools. We offer this program to schools with which FEEC BUT has long-term and active cooperation.
